Scan the asset ID

Assets may be checked out by supervisors or, for large-scale operations, using an efficient self-checkout process. RedBeam Asset Tracking supports both options.

To initiate a check out, open the Asset Tracking app on your laptop or mobile device and capture the item’s unique barcode or RFID tag. Optional handheld scanners make the process even easier.

Assign the asset
Identify the person taking custody of the asset using the method that works best for your organization: Scan an identification card, like a student ID or employee badge; select the person’s name from a pre-populated list; or enter it manually.

Track the asset in real time
Once an asset is checked out, its status and location are updated in the check out system in real time. Users can monitor exactly who has the asset and when it’s expected to return, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Log the return
When the equipment is returned, a quick scan of the barcode or RFID tag updates the inventory checkout system. You can also log details about the item’s condition or add notes on maintenance needs.
